Ephesians 1 Christian Veterinary Fellowship Mission Trip Fundraiser
I commented the other day as I prepared for my first mission opportunity through Christian Veterinary Fellowship and said, “I feel unqualified.” I’ve had those thoughts of doubt lately in many aspects of my life, and I could go on and on, but it comes down to this: the Lord has taken account of who I am. The same applies to you.
That doubt is rooted in some insecurity. For me, it’s typically correlated with my past and when I struggle with sin. Our executive team in Christian Veterinary Fellowship has an excellent teacher, guide, friend, and someone I would classify as my second mom. We studied Ephesians last semester, and she reinforces that our identity is in Christ.
Throughout Ephesians 1, Paul the Apostle writes to the Ephesians in the New Testament the foundation for all Christians: Christ has united people from all nations to himself and one another in his church. Throughout this Ephesian chapter, Paul describes that we are new creations with six components to our new identity. The silly acronym “BCARFS” stands for Blessed, Chosen Adopted Redeemed, Forgiven, and Sealed. The most revolutionary for me is “Sealed.”
Ephesians 1:13 says, “When you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.”
Often, I fall short and am ridden with anxiety because I take in the lies from the devil as he reminds me that I failed once again and that I don’t deserve the love of Christ. But that’s the beauty of who God is. I never deserved it in the first place.
Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
So, as I continue to prepare with my colleagues, I have created this apparel collection to assist in raising funds for the trip. If you prefer to donate directly on the CVM Short Term Mission Page, my link is https://cvm.org/short-term-giving-project/bailey-degroat
